SNOW!!

WOW!! look how much snow it can get in Canada .
in japan we don't get any snow at all .
and wat I like about the winter is , that you can make a snowman and do a snow ball fight with your friends.
wat I don't like about the winter is it is sow cold that my legs all most can't move.
and that is all that I gat to say about winter.

Goodbye and have a nice day.

my first pumpkin carving

Hello everybody. I well tell you how to carve a pumpkin.  This is my very first pumpkin carving.

So, first with a sharp knife you will cut the top of the pumpkin.

Then, when you're done doing that, it should look like this.

Then, with your hand or a spoon, scrape out the seeds.

Then, when you're done scooping out the seeds, use a sharp knife to carve a face on your pumpkin.  On the bottom picture there are 3 examples for you to make or you can make your own face.

Finally, when you have carved the perfect face,                you put a small candle inside the pumpkin so your face will glow!

Ok....so that's how to carve a pumpkin!  Have fun!

Rain and Umbrellas

Hello I'm back.
Today I noticed something different about Canada and Japan.
In Canada, most people don't own umbrellas.  Today, it has been raining all day and quite hard at times.  As I was coming home from school, I thought it was so interesting that most people were just walking around like it wasn't even raining! In Japan, if it was raining and they didn't have an umbrella, they would use a newspaper or something to cover their head to keep the rain off.  No one in Japan seems to want to get even a few drops of rain on them.  But not here - most people were just walking around, taking their time and didn't seem bothered at all that they were getting wet!  The funny is, the few umbrellas that I did see were being held by an Asian-looking person.

Northern Lights - Wow!

Hey I want to tell you that on Sept. 29  I saw the Northern Lights for the first time ever!  I have been in Japan for 10 years so I never saw this before.  The Lights were small but it was so cool.   They were only green and they moved very slowly, dancing across the sky.  I am very curious about how the Northern Lights appear.  Some people say that the  moon hits the ice in the North and makes this beautiful light.  My Mom and Dad were so surprised that we were able to see these lights because it is very rare to be able to see then in the middle of the city.  We were pretty lucky that night!
